If God used those who were thought too young, might He not also use those who are thought too old?  The God who grants maturity and restraint to the young, can grant strength and endurance to the old.

When confusion and uncertainty comes and the way is dark, I must not look for an easy out.  Difficulties sanctify one even more when we are denied evidence that all is working toward some glorious victory.  While I may not wish it, I am nonetheless sometimes shut up to a simple resignation:  God is God and I do not know what He will do about me, but whatever it is, I yield, without knowing.

Our surrender must be to God Himself simply because we know Him — not because the way of providence is particularly pleasing.  God is God and He is always good!
