Hands to Hold on With!

Years ago I knew a little boy who slipped on the bank of a stream and fell into the water. On his way down, however, he grabbed a nearby rock and held on until his father rescued him.

Next Sunday in church a little voice was heard during the time of congregational prayer: “Thank you, Lord, for hands to hold on with!”

Our capacities to grasp needed aid, should not only deliver us, but should renew our love to God who gives “hands to hold on with.”

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6

“God has said, ‘never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.'” Hebrews 13:5
