SUGGESTION FOR PRAYER GROUP LEADERS

(Review frequently!)

HOW TO PREPARE:

  • Be in special prayer for the entire evening.
  • Have a verse or comment ready to get things off to a good start. (Use only if needed. Don’t force. Do be brief.)
  • Pen and paper ready in main meeting to note any requests or special instructions for groups.
  • Be ready to mention missionary of week and another one.

HOW TO CONDUCT YOUR GROUP MEETING

  • Getting Settled – When more than one group in same building, take initiative by area to draw people in and get them settled quickly.   Do not add extra chairs unless other groups all filled. Rather, encourage later ones to move on to another group and get underway at once.
  • Your Attitude – Be enthusiastic! However, do not monopolize. Have your part planned so it will be bright and brief and serve to move things right along. Do not hesitate to use your place of leadership in keep things on track.
  • General Procedure – Fit the order of meeting with the spirit of what has gone before in the main meeting. Vary order accordingly – whether prayer or sharing is first. Also, vary the type of prayer and sharing.

Take any requests quickly. (Most requests could simply be prayed for by the one who gives them, without his having to mention before the prayer!)

Involve each one. Notice non-participants and draw them out. (Don’t force them to pray.) Get names of new ones. If newly saved, inquire about this.

  • Instructions to Give Them – Keep testimonies, prayers brief, so time for both. No one share twice until all have had chance once. Encourage everyone to be “real.” Pray, share REAL needs. Only one mention item in prayer unless emergency. Speak up so all can hear (ladies especially).
