A church is God’s flock – fed by Him and led by Him, i.e., not only sustained but directed and employed in His work.
In order to accomplish His work, the church must be cleansed, dedicated and well nourished. This is ongoing.
Always there are two major functions:
Edification – Upbuilt individually into a consecrated worshipping, useful company — a family of families.
Extension – Evangelism and outreach – so that more and more will join the house of faith – in our immediate area and worldwide.
ESSENTIAL STEPS
- There should be a concentration on family renewal and up-building – intensively and extensively. The marrieds’ class is at the core of things – providing training in family life and Bible teaching in the home.
- Individual Discipling – Spiritual Life Studies
- Training of Leaders, e.g., our Saturday morning sessions
- Neighborhood emphasis in pastoring and shepherding
- Trained shepherds leading
- Neighborhood flocks and meetings
- New emphasis on evangelism by the church (not merely in the church)
- Missions – Encourage more of a working together in determining goals and in sending workers to achieve those objectives. Train all who are sent by the church in the philosophy outlined here.
