ROOTS DO SHOW!

STERRRANGE MODERN MAKE-BELIEVE: It is now considered loving if you do not expect that a man’s problems are related to the most common root cause; viz, sin. That kind of treatment or counsel is not being loving! It is unrealistic, perhaps tragic.

Here are a two of the serious implications of this kind of “help”:

GOD’S WORD IS SIDE-POCKETED and not looked to as being essential. Did, or did not, God give us a sufficient revelation, inspired by the Holy Spirit and suited for our needs? Is the Scripture unduly harsh and harmful or very helpful?

Second, TO REMOVE BLAME IS TO REMOVE RESPONSIBILITY.  Animals do not have blame for volitional failure.  Human beings do.  Is God directing us?  Is Satan, or is personal sin involved?  Read Isaiah 30:8-18.  Notice God is faulting people of that day as unwilling to hear His words.

“Stop confronting us,” they cry.  “Tell us pleasant things.”

Another very serious warning is given in Ezekiel 3:18-21.  Study it carefully.

“When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die, and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 19 But if you do warn the wicked person and they do not turn from their wickedness or from their evil ways, they will die for their sin; but you will have saved yourself.

20 “Again, when a righteous person turns from their righteousness and does evil, and I put a stumbling block before them, they will die. Since you did not warn them, they will die for their sin. The righteous things that person did will not be remembered, and I will hold you accountable for their blood. 21 But if you do warn the righteous person not to sin and they do not sin, they will surely live because they took warning, and you will have saved yourself.”
