WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT?

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING AT? Our eyes tell where our hearts are focused. Talking of spiritual, heavenly things while enamored with very earthly, even sinful things, is so wrong! Hear what Paul says in 2Cor. 4:7-18.

First, we are reminded of the treasure that believers possess. No need to scavenger in the world’s bins. We have “the knowledge of the glory of God” as it shines “in the face of Christ.” (See Vs 6.) However, as verse seven makes clear, when God entrusts us with such glory, we urgently need reminding that we are but vessels of clay. His is the glory.

Next, life’s hard blows are divinely purposeful. We join Jesus in a kind of death, so that His new life can shine from us. Study carefully this whole passage, closing with:

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal, 18.
