A World in Crisis

No one denies that the world is cracking with crisis. Our question is, What is the Christian’s most important job? Time is short.

How many are the answers being proposed to that question! Under its pressure the Church today is undergoing painful self-examination. Outstanding religious leaders are discussing all sorts of radical adjustments so the church will be more meaningful to modern man.

Much of this talk can be dumped with the week’s trash. (e.g., “let’s rid our religion of God and then no one will be offended.”) Other new ideas must, of course, be faced up to.

However, we can’t afford just to stand on the street corner flagellating ourselves. Let’s get on with the job of world evangelism. Jesus gave the order: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

And, He prophesied, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

If we fail, “HOW SHALL THEY HEAR?”
