TO ALL THOSE WHO DO NOT ATTEND CHURCH

Dear Friend,

I wish very much that you would think over two questions.

First, would a true Christian deliberately disobey God?

Now, God commands that we “not give up our own assembling together, as is the habit of some.” Hebrews 10:25.

You who neglect church services have a serious problem in your life. God commands you to attend His public assembly.  You refuse.  Are you a Christian?  If you are, your will must give way to His.  A Christian does the will of God.

Let me make it clear that this letter is not intended for one who is not truly a saved child of God.  He would not have a heart for God.  But let not one who practices disobedience to God say at the same time that He is born of God.

Often heard excuses are: “I am too tired….too busy….just never seem to make it; something comes up….don’t care to be with church-goers….can be just as good without it.”

If you have ever spoken or uttered such words against what our Lord commands, let me urge you to examine your life right now!

Here is my last question: Has God ever put a new heart within you?  He promises to give those who repent of their sins a new heart – one that knows, loves and obeys Him.

Remember: pastors, teachers, deacons – and church assemblies for worship and instruction – were established by God.  The Bible orders it.

“How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation?!” Hebrews 2:3.

Earnestly yours,

Harold E. Burchett, Pastor
