It is worth the hours it takes to find, enlist, and prepare someone to do a job that regularly requires an hour or so of your time to perform.
Next, keep in mind two extremes going forward in styles of leadership.
1. The tendency to micro-manage or,
2. A more slack leadership approach requiring no progress reports
The first style in itself says, in effect, “This job is too important for you really to be trusted.” The second approach inadvertently is saying, “This job is not worthy of my time, so I’m giving it to you.”
The better rule is, Whenever enlisting and assigning a task (and that’s how to get work done!), always set up a plan for soon and regular progress reporting. Instead of doing carrying more on your own shoulders, get much more done through others.
Remember your ultimate aim is to train and disciple disciplers and thus build a host of leaders. That is how to lead a church.
