Re. Origin of all things – intelligent design – who or what is given the credit and honor for all that exists?
- How did matter come to exist?
- How are we to explain the complexity and design of the universe? I account for all this by crediting God with the necessary power, eternality, and wisdom.
- Do you credit blank matter with these attributes? Is there any pragmatic evidence to support such a view?
- Does not the evidence show the opposite? What you attribute to decaying matter, I attribute to God – and give him all appropriate worship.
- Finally, if One is credited with designing all intelligent and communicating life, can he not speak, communicate?
Yes! We are not left in darkness. God sent his Son and also gave us Scripture:
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Hebrews 1:1-3
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3:16-17
For prophecy never had its origin in the human will, but prophets, though human, spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit. II Peter 1:21
